Beyonce is Preggers!

Congrats to Beyonce and Jay-Z. God has answered my prayers because now maybe Beyonce will disappear for a few years!

Mean Girls in the The Real World.....

In the past three weekends I have spent my free time mostly with men. First, let me explain that I work with mostly women and I also live with a bunch of women. Unfortunately I have had bad experiences with women as of late.I would like to start this by saying that all women are not Bad! In fact, I find it refreshing when I meet a cool chick. But these days I had no such luck.

Two weeks ago I attended a BBQ my friend Jeremy was having in Brooklyn. When I arrived to the party the only girl there besides me was a former female bike messenger who was 5 months pregnant. The girl was nice but she seemed to always have to be the center of the conversation. Everyone knows that one person at the party who has to dominate conversation.Well that was her. I pride myself on being able to go with the flow in awkward situations and the guys made me feel right at home.I  laughed at the stories they told about their near death experiences and altercations they got themselves into on their bikes. I saw their passion and it relfected how I feel about fashion. At one point the guys started asking me style questions and how things should fit. I gladly gave each guy my advice as to what I thought was important in a guys wardrobe.

Lately I have really started to pay close attention to how men and women act towards each other. I noticed that group of guys laughed more than a group of women. They could pick at one another and not be hyper-sensitive. There was a feeling of commorodary and an appreciation for each personality. Each time someone new arrived to the party everyone was easily accepted into the group.

Last week my best friend/roommate invited me to a party with her once again out in Brooklyn. Although I had worked all day and was totally exhausted I couldn't pass up the beautiful weather. Besides I couldn't turn down a rooftop party with a bunch of law students. Another random weekend for me..... When we arrived to the party and stepped out onto the rooftop we noticed the guy who invited  us hadn't arrived yet. We introduced ourselves and immediately begin to chat with the guys. The girls all seemed quite clickish and frankly gave off bad energy. My friend even saw some of her female co-workers and they hardly spoke to her. Once again I was shocked as to how women can be so cold with one another.  I left with two new guy friends and no new female friends!!

Last night I went out with my "its complicated" and his best friend. Talk about pressure. Meeting the best friend could make or break a relationship. The evening was started with this weird energy due to the fact that entire city was buzzing about Hurricane Irene. We met for drinks and I am happy to report that it all went down quite pleasant and I was able to win the best friend over with my charm...haha. My point to this particular story is that I feel if that his best friend were a female I don't think the outcome would have been the same.

I want to be able to meet cool laid back girls out there who can laugh and just enjoy life without gossiping and trying to put each other down. I think reality television is also affecting how women act towards each other...basically these shows are promoting this sort of bickering and drama between women. No longer is their a united front like the women of Sex and The City....the only example out there for younger girls is The Bad Girls Club, Basketball Wives and all of the Housewives franchises. I am guilty of watching some of these shows only to laugh at how silly these women are. My point is... It only takes a few people to make a change. So when you hear gossip or somehow get involved in unnecessary drama. Remove yourself from the situation and don't be the Mean Girl. Be the girl who is real, kind, and treat people how you would want to be treated. Because if you don't you could be  missing out on the opportunity to get to know really cool people.

MTV VMA's To Pay Tribute To AMY WINEHOUSE Tomorrow NIght!

Amy's voice touched a part of my soul that very few artist have managed to do. Her voice will forever be timeless. She will always be one of my favorites! I hope through this horrible hurricane we are battling here in Northeast that my power will be working so I can see the VMA'S Tomorrow Night! Can't wait to hear what songs they pick!

Part 2....Vogue Interview.

Kate Moss had my Fairytale Wedding

Growing up in the South it was an ongoing joke in college that every weekend someone got engaged! For some reason that's part of the norm there.....I have never been one to conform but if I were to do this thing we call marriage I would do it just like Kate....Check out the pictures of her wedding in the new Septmeber Issue of Vogue. Gorgeous!

New Look for a New Season

Fall is just around the corner and I am already planning my fall wardrobe! Tis the season of pumpkin spice lattes, strolls in Central Park and the smell of roasted peanuts in the air.. However, my FAVORITE thing about fall is,,,,, this is my favorite time of the year to play dress up! I love layering... I live for an eye catching scarf and beautiful hats...Girls and Guys this is the best time of the year to showcase your personal style....Although I cringe at the thought of having cold weather upon us so quickly.. I think it's IMPERATIVE as we transition  from Summer to Fall to do your reseach!!!! Pick up a magazine....especially if its a Foreign Magazine. British Vogue, British Elle, French Vogue, Italian Vogue, Nylon, BlackBook and BLOGS! There is information out there right at your fingertips.... Here are my 5  "MUST HAVES" in your wardrobe...I call them your INVESTMENT PIECE

First.....a great pair of jeans...Wide or Skinny...it's all about the fit! Second Everyone should have a great pair of brown leather boots and also if you can pull it off a great pair of combat boots. Third, a fitted blazer can add that extra polish to an outfit and structure. Fourth, a great hat + plus circular framed glasses. Fifth, every woman needs a retro dress and every guy needs a tailored suit! Think Mad Men.... 1960's-70's.

Although there are several trends out there right now I think it's important to find what works for you. I always tell me clients to step out of the box. Pick something that you would never try on because sometimes you get lucky! For me the MAJOR part of anyones wardrobe is to make sure that The FIt is Perfect! I see these girls all the time that are almost put together but the fit is off......One last thing.....Get out there pick up a magazine and start mentally making a checklist of things that catch your eye. Just because the labels are super expensive in the magazines doesn't mean you can't find similar pieces at affordable places....For jewelry and other accessories for the fall....I love anything that involves animals.....feathers,animal inspired rings bracelets.I will be featuring my favorites very soon.  For me my style for this Fall/Winter is vintage YSL. Structured, 70's, Effortless. To get in the mood for my new Fall Wardrobe I decided to start it with a BANG....Thus my new hair do!!!!
